Gymnastics with Miss Taylor

Please read some of Room 6's gymnastic recounts.

PE with miss Taylor

Miss Taylor teaches Room 6 PE every Wednesday afternoon. In Term 3 we focused on Gymnastics.
We got taught a lot of new skills including walking across the beam and a lot more.

One day we had the South Otago Sports activator come to Lawrence Area School and take Room 6 for a gymnastics class.

Most of Room 6 gave it a crack at everything. Some people in Room 6 managed to do a flip over the vault.

Taylor

Gymnastics emma

In year 7 and 8 every Wednesday Miss Taylor has been teaching us gymnastics. We learnt how to mount the beam and walk across it. It is very hard to stand once you have mounted the beam because you can lose balance. We have been using the vault, the beam, and the mats. It was awesome doing the bunny hop on the vault it was my favourite thing.

Thank You Miss Taylor

Gymnastics

In Term 3 for PE with Miss Taylor we did gymnastics. We went on the beam and learned some different ways to get on and of the and off and some different walks. We did forward rolls and backward rolls. We did hand stands as well. My favourite part was jumping the vault because we got to do flips.

                                                          JACOB

Gymnastics

We had to do gymnastics this year it was fun. It was fun doing flips and spins on the beat board. Last of all we did handstands and cart wheels. It was all right but doing a head stand gave me a sore head. My favourite part was the beat board because I liked doing flips.

Jaxon

Gymnastics

In Term 3 for gymnastics we were taught how to do handstands, walk on the balancing beam, as well leaping over the vault. My favourite part was leaping over the vault which was really fun because we did flips and landings on the mat. We also did dive rolls and diving over the vault.

Bradley

Gymnastics Recount

On Wednesday afternoon Room 6 splits into year 7 and year 8 Mrs B takes art and Miss Taylor takes sport. Last term for sport we were looking at gymnastics. In gymnastics we looked at how to fall safely, beam, vault, spring board, forward rolls, backwards rolls. My favourite part of gymnastics was the beam. I liked the beam because we got to use the mini trampoline.

Students of the Week for weeks 9 and 10 of term 3.

Kyle has been working hard all term and has thoroughly deserved this recognition for his efforts. Keep up the great work next term too.

Terry has been a revelation this term. Not only did he plan and present an excellent speech, but he gave a great impersonation of Elvis during room 6's dance item. Keep taking those risks, Terry.

On Wednesday afternoons Miss Taylor takes Room 6  for Phys. Ed. This term we are focusing on Gymnastics. Today we were experiencing the different ways we can balance in pairs, triples and fours. The boys took a lot of risks during this session and proved that there are a number of ways we can balance.
